Knox School of Theology is a highly sought after and accredited institution. We often have waitlists for our degree programs. Though we want to serve as many students as we can, our capacity is limited. Before starting the application, please review the following items that can help clarify if you might be eligible for our programs. If you have further questions we encourage you to contact us!

Degree Program Requirements

Knox shall admit students to the BA in Theology, using any of the following scheme:

  1. A-level/Direct Entrants:
    • Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent with five (5)
      passes and
    • Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or its equivalent with two principal passes obtained at the same sitting.
  2. Mature age Entry Scheme: Mature Age Entrance Examinations taken from a Centre authorized by NCHE awarded to a person-aged at least 25 years and has passed with at least 50% marks.
  3. Diploma Entrants: A Diploma Recognized as such by the National Council for Higher Education. Holders of Diplomas in Theology may be allowed to start the programmes in second year, first semester.
  4. Higher Education Certificate Entrants: Higher Education Certificate, passed with at least a credit.
  5. Degree Holders: A Degree recognized by the National Council for Higher Education.

All applicants wishing to join Knox School of Theology Uganda will be required to prove to the school a sense of calling for the ministry by submitting a testimony of his walk with the Lord. Priority for admission will be given to the Presbyterian pastors and then students from other evangelical churches.

Knox shall admit students to the Diploma in Theology, using any of the following scheme:

  1. A-level/Direct Entrants:
    • Uganda Certificate of Education (UACE) or its equivalent with at least two (2) subsidiary passes and
    • Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or its equivalent with one principal passes obtained at the same sitting.
  2. Certificate Entry Scheme
    • Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent with at least five (5) passes and
    • A Certificate of two years duration obtained from a recognized institution of learning.
  3. Mature age Entry Scheme: Mature Age Entrance Examinations taken from a Centre authorized by NCHE awarded to a person-aged at least 25 years and has passed with at least 50% marks.
  4. Higher Education Certificate Entrants: Higher Education Certificate recognised by National Council for Higher Education.

Other Eligibility Considerations

There are limited scholarships available for needy students, (terms and conditions apply). KSTU gives the first priority to students who are sent by Reformed Churches across the globe. Such students must subscribe to the reformed traditions, confessions and creeds. They must demonstrate their commitment to reformed doctrines individually. Such students must demonstrate strong calling to the ministry as shall be recommended by their local congregations.

Please review, download, correctly fill out, and mail in your the following required documents (ALONG with the Application fee!): 1. KST Application Form, 2. Academic Reference Form, 3. Church Reference Form. Your application cannot be considered until all of these items have been submitted to us.
